I have a filter called "Prodigal" for those that leave for Spotify or other walled gardens and come back or open back up at a later date. "Personal Finance Possible" is for those podcasts that I do not want to unsubscribe, but I want to see the topic covered or listen to see if it is an episode I want to fully consume. You do not see episodes unless you select a podcast in the category. So if you have a category called true crime and you open that category, you see the podcasts listed that you added to that category. Starring episodes can be used to effectively make a more traditional playlist - with the big caveat that you only get one list. But, if what you want is to manually select episodes then your options are more limited. I also have a duplicate of most subject filters with "Possible" added to the tile. Both Podcast Republic and PlayerFM allow you to put podcasts in groups/categories/folders that you can name. If what you want on the playlist is something reasonably easy to define by filter terms, filters can be be close enough. It is much easier to add a podcast to filters in the podcast settings menu rather than the filter options, in my opinion. Podcasts can be classified into multiple filters. These are based on content, time, or other factors. Filters Do you really think most users prefer the complicated mess of this new filter system to the simplicity of 1) choosing a name for a playlist 2) simply multi-selecting episodes and placing them there 3) setting up the ability to have episodes automatically downloaded into specific playlists (something Podcast Republic allows). rather than a large single "Finance" filter for these topics.įilters based on activity. I have Economics, Finance, Personal Finance, Business News, FinTech, etc.
