Vizzini and Fezzik go on with the princess, leaving Inigo to duel the man in black. They get her up the Cliffs of Insanity with Fezzik’s strength, but are being followed by a mysterious “man in black”. The princess is promptly kidnapped by three men, Inigo, a fencing Spaniard, Vizzini, a mastermind Sicilian, and Fezzik, a gentle giant of a Turk. Distraught, Buttercup vows to never love again, and is asked to marry the prince, Humperdinck, but not for love, as they agree. Westley leaves to get a job in America, but is killed by the Dread Pirate Roberts. The Princess Bride (1987) is about a woman by the name of Buttercup who lives on a small farm and, after the countess shows slight interest him, falls in love with the farm boy, Westley. The question now is whether or not The Princess Bride, the book written by William Goldman, the movie directed by Rob Reiner, is a fairytale. This is due to the fact that any story can have a savior, damsel, ne’er-do-well, and moral lesson, but it’s the magic that brings all of this into a greater scope that can catch the eye of anyone between the ages of one and one-hundred. The most important of these elements is the magic, whether it’s the magic used by an old wizard, or the sheer magic of a mythical beast, regardless of its actual use of magic. For something to truly be considered a fairytale, it must contain: a heroic archetype, a ‘Damsel in Distress’ archetype, a ne’er-do-well archetype, some sort of magic, and a moral lesson. Fezzik turned up with four white horses and they carefully jumped out of the window and rode off into the sunset.To start, what is a fairytale? A fairytale consists of a few key elements, and even more minor ones that are less necessary to the subject. As Buttercup was about to kill herself Westley magically appears on the bed all bloody. They had the wedding but they never officially married because they ever said their I do’s. They took him to the castle to rescue Buttercup. Fezzik and Inigo found Westley and took him to Miracle Max to get a miracle to bring him back. He took Westley and tortured him while Buttercup was forced to get married to him. Prince Humperdinck found Westley and Buttercup as they were returning to say to call off the wedding. Then Westley found his beloved again and they survived the fire swamp. Westley defeated Inigo Montoyo, Fezzik and Vizzini. Westley, who was known as the Dread Pirate Roberts, was chasing them to get his true love back. ![]() One day when Buttercup was riding her horse she was captured and taken to the Cliffs of Insanity. Five years had passed and Buttercup had been send off to Marry Prince Humperdinck who was the richest and ugliest man in the land, but he had the right to marry who he wanted so he choose to get engaged to Buttercup. Buttercup heard that he was murdered, so she sat in her room without eating or drinking. Soon later Buttercup found out that his boat had been attacked by the Dread Pirate Roberts. Westley was poor and didn’t have money for marriage so he had to leave Buttercup for find work. One upon a time there was a women named Buttercup who in the previous story fell in love with a man named Westley who was a farm boy. ![]()
